About

30+ Years of Festivities

Scarecrow Fest began in 1985 with a few contest entries in St. Charles, Illinois’ Lincoln Park.  It has grown from a small community festival to a nationally recognized festival attracting over 100,000 over three days Columbus Day weekend.

The Fest has grown, but it has not forgotten its roots.  The Contest and the Make your own Scarecrow as the key event that has sustain the autumn tradition for over 30 years.  Carmel apples.

The 2017 Fest will have a new element with the Greater St. Charles Farm Tour.

2017 Fest is organized by Greater St. Charles CVB in partnership with Ravenswood Event Services and JMF Events.
